Default Getting started in sprinting/hillclimbing, advice needed!!

Hi guys, Hope you can help! I've got a v2 sti typr ra which was in a sorry state when i bought it, ive been doing it up over the last couple of years and im getting to the stage where i'd like to use it.
I'm quite fancy doing some sprinting/hillclimbing and just wanted some advice and help in what to do next and what classes i could run in and what tyres i would need.
I've joined my local motor club and have applied for my B license. Ive done plenty of trackdays/ ring trips etc but never competed, does this matter?
The car has been a ex rally car and is stripped and caged (door cards still in place) 2x bucket seats (front) no rear seats. The car isn't mot'd at the mo but would pass without having to do to much work.
It has uprated suspension/brakes etc. Would i be able to run in a road going class or would it have to be a modded class?
I want to have some fun in the car but don't want to end up in a class with 600bhp fire breathing monsters!
Hope you can offer some advice and point me in the right direction!
Many thanks Tim.

Have a look on 22b Tim, the 22b/MLR sprint series would be a good event/series to look at

To run in the road going class, you must have Tax,Mot, and all seats fitted together with door cards. Your class would be A4 for 2600cc and upwards. Turbo engines have a plus 40% to capacity. To enter fully Modified class, C4, your car will need a MSA log book, but does not need to be taxed or Mot. You will need your cage for this. I,m afraid you will be in with any type of car from 2600cc up to Dodge Vipers. I wish you well,it is great fun. Den.

So if i fitted some 2nd hand rear seats and and got her mot'd i would be o.k for the road going class? She doesn't have roof lining or carpets either, does that matter?
Thanks for the input Tim.

You don't have to sign up for the whole series unless you want to!! But a lot of the guys on that forum compete in that series so there is a lot of help and advice. I am looking at doing some when my engine build is done, looks like good fun

Yes, if you fit seats in the rear you will be ok.I.m not sure about headlining, but carpets can be taken out. Tax and Mot needed. Cage will be a safety bonus.
