SVA running out MOT due??
#1
My road TAX is due at the end of the month, but how do I know if I need a MOT or not? There are 2 dates on the V5 document, the date the car was SVA'd (8th JAN 1999) and the date of registration (14th FEB 1999) in the UK. Which one is the MOT due date?? Or will I automatically get notice throught the post.
On the subject of MOT, does anyone know of a good place in the Bristol / Cardiff area which is not too strict on exhaust emissions?? Thanks.

Well I have no idea but you are already too late for the 8th of Jan! I'd just go and get it done straight away, if they know at the test centrethey can give you a "13 month MOT", i.e. if your MOT is due on the 15th of June 2000, if you go along and get it tested between the 15th of May and the 15th of June they can date it 12 months fron the OLD MOT, i.e. if you had it tested on the 15th of May 2000 the next MOT would be due on the 15th of JUNE 2001.
You do need your old MOT (or presumably SVA though)

Cripes! Manufacture date is Sept 1996 so I guess i'm a bit late with the MOT !!
But i've had no documents through from the DVLA which is a bit wierd?
Hmm...down to my local MOT station then!
Gethin.

Gethin....you don't get reminders for MOT's. You are thinking of tax matey! So you won't want to know that technically you have been driving round uninsured then either!
