How long would a classic with an engine knock last?
Just out of interest, if you had a bottom end knock and were going to say to hell with it and run it until it died, how long do you think you might get away with?

As above, the longer you leave it the bigger the repair bill. Could a simple strip down with new bearings and a regrind now or a full on rebuild or new engine later.
Nobody but a breaker is buying it with a knocking engine so your choice whether it's worth more in parts or worth spending the money on

A mate of mine bought a type R with a big end knock & decided to drive it home about 40 miles. By the time he got home it was totally knackered & needed a new engine.
