Whats my plate worth?
I have just put a plate on retention, reg P18 YOU, obviously goes well on a P1, but i have no idea what its worth. I did have it valued by a reg dealer but id imagine thats not a price that you could sell it to a p1 owner as it would mean more to them ? I currently have it slightly spaced so it reads P1 8 YOU and looks great on it. But the car is as good as sold so i no longer require the plate. Anyone got any ideas what i could put as an asking price?
Cheers.

A P1 ate me?????
I've been destroyed by a Ferrari in a drag race and i was made to look foolish by an RS4 and i've taught a Boxster S a lesson but i have never ate or indeed, been eaten another car - there lies my confusion

I dont know did it?
As far as im aware, its a saying, some people will be after something like this for their cars, it come on a car i bought and now i want to sell it all, all i asked for was a price on what some people thought it would be worth, not what they thought of its meaning.

As said though, you're aiming at a very small market with this.

I wouldnt call it illegally spaced, the front plate is standard and the rear has a very small space between the 1 and the 8 but whichever way you have it, it still works people can still read quite easily have had many positive comments on it.
Yeah of course i know that, but hopefully it will sell, im not in a hurry. Cheers

So you currently have it illegally spaced? Any plate that you have to illegally alter is pointless to me. I can pick up a plate with WRX at the end (which wont sit on it illegally) with many different combination of prefixes at the beginning for £250!
As said though, you're aiming at a very small market with this.

Example WRX one £250, P1 with no alteration £499 and a P18 plate £250
http://dvlaregistrations.direct.gov....0WRX&price=250
http://dvlaregistrations.direct.gov....0ACU&price=499
http://dvlaregistrations.direct.gov....0AAE&price=250
Plus who realistically pays full asking price for these?
I had R5 APD valued at a stupid price of £1100, came with the car and supposed to look like 'Rapid' apparently. Tried selling for a year advertised at £400 (so a big cut) and had no interest at all. Ended up just selling it with the car.

I understand what you're saying, however there is a meaning to p1 8 you, I know this car, it is a 400+ HP monster, (I built it) so this plate does have a meaning for modified P1s. He's not aiming it at anyone else, other than P1 owners. That plate will sell, all he was after was some useful feedback on a nice plate, and didn't want stupid comments about kak WRX plates or not understanding the meaning of it.

^^^ He's asked on a public forum and I've given my opinion as to what I think its realistically valued at - as stated, its a small market. Plus spacing is lawful which you can't argue with, so P1 8 YOU is not lawfully spaced (and in my opinion justifies it meaningless).....FACT! I've only said what I think, so I don't see what you're moaning at?
