Default Who does carbon dipping then?

As above thinking about getting a set of wheels carbon dipped

Anyone have any recommendations?

The finish on them at the moment is great with no damage and need no prep work, so can they just be dipped as they are or would i get stung for stripping/re-powdercaoting and then dipping, The only issue is they are gold at the moment.

Cheers, Gaz.

Yes i know about wicked coatings but they require a full strip/powder coating then dipping and £500 to do a set of 18`s is too much IMO

Ah i think i am getting mixed up, Its hydrotek that charge around the £450 price for a set of 18`s, Including shipping tyre fitting its around £500

I might just get my mate to powder coat them for cheapness

Only a spare set i was going to use as show/track wheels

So we`ve got,

Hydrotek
Wicked Coatings
Pitstop Designs

Gaz..........got your message on the other thread.....locky from HYDROtek here.....I can have your wheels stripped/powder coated and carbon dipped for £430....or you can have just the fronts worked on....wet painted then dipped but that is still £90 a wheel £360......that's the price on doing the wheels......you would also have to take the tyres off and sort post costs ect if needed...

Any more questions give me a shout....cheers locky @HYDROtek

They're my wheels and very happy I am with them too - they're currently in the garage at the moment as I have my winter wheels on but when the weather is better and I get them back on my car I will take some pics and get them put on.

I can personally vouch for the work Locky does at Hydrotec having had parts done for my engine bay as well as my alloys - he does a great job at very reasonable prices.

How does this work? You say dipped which would suggest liquid but if that's the case, how does the uniform carbon weave occur?

Cheers Jura - but I still don't get it
It jus defies my logic that a liquid can dry so uniformly!

Hi mate the liquid is just a printed effect of carbon fibre ie a pattern of it on a sheet.....once activated the film the pattern is on dissolves and leave the ink pattern floating on the water surface.......that once a object is pushed through it etches into fresh paint and takes to the said object.....leaving an effect or print on the part dipped.......hope this helps explain alittle
