Default new heater matrix intermittent heat

Hi guys,

Recently had a new matrix fitted and the mechanic flushed the system, I've finally got heat in my car which is great but the warm air is very intermittent. From a cold start it gets warm quite quickly but after a couple of miles the heat drops off almost completely. The only way to get the heat back is to run at 3000+ rpm constantly.

I'm going to try some radiator cleaning solution tomorrow as the old matrix was full of gunk, looked like blueish Vaseline!

Any other things I can try?
Cheers

sounds like a knackered thermostat, or no thermostat fitted, what does the temp gauge read?

temp gauge is always half way or slightly above if I've been putting my foot down a bit, never moves much

Airlock?
Drain down completely, then follow SIMPLE instructions on here** for refilling but ensure heater is set to HOT.

** Do a search.
