Default Brakes - Pagid pads or standard

Have had my classic for 8 years - came with pagid pads, have always replaced like with like.
The car lives a pampered life - if I want to go out for a proper blat, will go out in my Westfield.

Need to replace pads - Should I stick to Pagid's as I've never had a problem with brakes.
Or
As I'm not pushing car, mostly town driving, would I actually improve brakes by going back to standard, as I would guess they're a softer compound.
And there's an obvious cost benefit too.

Any thoughts,
Kevin

Pagids are not expensive from eurocarparts, im using them and are a little better when warm over standard pads. They do wear discs a little faster though.
