FUBAR - f@#ked up beyond all repair.

Aerocatch locking bonnet pins are what you will need:-

There's probably a thread on here somewhere.

I've got a set of these pins but haven't gotten round to putting them on. I wouldn't try it myself though, requires cutting and/or drilling.

Can't be hard, a couple of bolts and re-attacha cable. You are probably best giving it a good clean and re-grease. There isn't much that can go wrong with them.

That's what I thought, but I can't trust my clumsy nature and ham-fisted approach

Aero catches. Not only hold your bonnet down but look good too.

Failing that just buy a catch assembly from a breakers on here, probably be no more than £15 and will take 10 mins to fit.

ok thanks for that users im gonna give it a good grease it seems the actual hook latch that sits up highest has some play in it so maybe a way to tighten it .....if that fails ill get a new mech.....those aeros look good though but sounds like alot of work

Check the release cable where it attaches to the bonnet catch - they often fray and dont return the locking pawl properly.

I've not had this problem on the Scoob, but on other cars a good soak of WD40 to free everything up and then a good coat of white silicon grease usually sorts it out for me.
