2k is airfed only although some say the gerson masks are suitable although they are not guaranteed to work effectively. Up to you really some people get away with it and some don't. I wouldn't risk it myself for a full respray. It depends how much your health means to you.

A cartridge mask will be fine for what your using it for. Plenty experience here. Only reason a full face/air mask is preferred as the icosidinides can penetrate through the tear ducts. But av done many a job at home with no extraction and just a cartridge mask on. Obviously breathing air is better but many will use a air fed straight from there compressor which is often in where there painting :-/. Compessed air with paint in it! The filter in the belt is good but not that good haha

2k isnt nice stuff but it isnt that bad. i think its more of a warning for continuous use. look on the yank programmes ,you dont see them with airfed masks and they do it day in day out. just make sure whatever mask you choose (ie a proper carbon one or whichever one you choose) fits and seals properly.
i worked with a painter who never even used to wear a mask.... nuts i know, havent seen him for ages...............

It's not a poisonous gas ur useing so don't panic ur not ona keel over off ine wiff acartridge mask will be fine. And think I need about 13cfm to run an surfed mask well the one I have u do. Out of intrest is the car straight colour or metallic?

Was just checking because if u were doing a metallic colour. More so silver. Painting a panel at a time ur car would have been like a patch work quilt. Not one panel would have matched. My mate has had his Evo 9 painted frozen white. Looks nice.

i dont know if this is true but i was told to have the car facing the same way when ever you spray metallic or paint with metal flake.
i`m having mine done in frozen white , nice colour choice, my mate knows a good painter so just got to prep and mask myself

Imagine metallic paint as millions of little mirrors. If u don't drop coat it at the same pressure then u will have slightly more or less flake which will reflect the light more or less so can make the colour seem darker or lighter. If u painted a door laying flat and blended the panels either side on the car it would be off a little but nothing major. It's a tricky business people think if u can pi55 u can paint. Hence why it's not classed as a skilled trade.

Tbh anyone could learn to put the paint on. But if its prepped rubbish the result will be rubbish. I won't paint something someone else has prepped. Or if I was ad still charge to prep so I could correct there mistakes
