What Map Sensor for hight boost ?
#2
clint, what are you after exactly?
the most common map sensor when going above 1.5 bar boost is the 3 bar map sensor, the same one the cossie uses.
in case you dont know, you have to use 1 bar of the 3 for vacumn reading so you really only have 2 bar boost to play with.
when you get to above 2 bar then you need to do some pretty trick stuff with the maps, mike rainbird should be able to explain this to you.

Unless you have a re-mappable ecu, where the sensors can be calibrated, changing from standard can be a real pain. Remember that map sensors work on 0~5volts, which is divided up by the range of the sensor. The ecu is calibrated to expect a certain voltage, at a specific pressure.
Get a MoTec, ect', and run what you like
Later cars have a 2.5bar map sensor (runs about 1.5bar +), ealier cars can run about 1.3bar (I think).
Mark.

Thanks for the reply guys I really wanted to know because someone told me the common conversion was to use an Escort Cossie item, and I have a box full .. so I thought I might be onto a winner in your sales section... lol
Most ecus supply the sensor 5.12 volts which using an 8 bit sampler(0-255BIN) and a 3BAR sensor the ecu can plot boost at every 0.17 PSI.
