Injury claims
I recently had someone hit my car on a car park and I wasn't in the car, all sorted now and third party is paying up, I am getting rather fed up of phone calls asking me if I suffered any injury in my accident and if I want to claim. The fact I wasn't in the car puts them off but how the hell do they get my details is the insurance industry feeding these vultures with the information to help put our premiums up. Accident was dealt with very well and I can't fault the service I have been given apart from this one annoying thing. It's awkward keep getting calls at work.
No wonder injury claims are so common you virtually get talked into claiming, I presume the people phoning get some financial reimbursement if they take on a case.

They probably aren't ringing about tha specific accident, they are just cold calls.
I get them at work, telling me i'm due money for the claim i had. I've never had a claim!
If they are ringing about your accident they could have got your number from anywhere. The insurers (unlikely, as they'd want your money themselves), accident repair center who fixed your car, even the Police.
Changes are it's just a random cold call though.

If you claim for PI you might get £1800-£2000.... the solicitors would get about £2500-£3000.
From the 1st April this year that figure is being capped at £500 for PI claims less than £5000 (IIRC)

About time as quite frankly it's getting ridiculous. You get people claiming for injuries when they damage to their car is only £300. A woman pulled out on me once and it caused £4k worth of damage and even though I wasn't wearing a seatbelt I walked away without a scratch! Thieving b*stards springs to mind....

String them along a bit, see if you can get the call to last longer than the last one. I had one on the phone for about five minutes when they finally asked what the accident actually was - I then told them I'd spilt a cup of coffee two years ago. They had the nerve to call ME a time waster lol.

Sols currently get between £1420-£1620 if in MOJ process. Basically the government have got fed up with the whiplash compensation culture and are making it less attractive for solicitors by reducing not only their costs but also what they can reclaim back in relation to their costs.

'Best' one i've seen is £12 to fix vehicle (replacement numberplate) and £6000 payout for PI

Solicitors charges can get to £3k+ quite easily if they are not in the MOJ process. If solicitors issues proceedings for the injury then most times you can double those costs.
That's why insurers pay out most PI claims becauses it's more economic to do so than letting it to to court and get walloped with costs that are 2-3 times higher. That's why this new process is coming in, before claiming PI was way to one sided towards the injured party.
£6k for a PI with just front number plate damagd does surprise me though - I would've told them to swivel
