Default Is it worth getting her Remapped ?

Hi Guys,
I`ve owned my 95 WRX for 8 yrs now, it was an everyday car so never went for power etc, but now its not used as much i thought about the mapping scene, Would like a bit more low down grunt/torque,dont want silly bhp as i dont want it to pop as it does have 97k on the clock !

Anyway, the current engine mods are

Bigger TMIC (off of a 2004 WRX)
K&N panel filter
Ninja Sports Cat (downpipe cat only)
HKS full 3" exhaust from end of downpipe
standard headers
Standard Z4 ecu
97k (miles) on the clock
2003 fuel pump

Now i know the Z4 cant be mapped,so i found this, would this be suitable for the Z4 does anybody know ?

http://www.enduringsolutions.com/

or polar performance chip ?

And as a rough guestimate, what bhp/torque increase would i see with the little mods done above ?

cheers

It's always worth getting re mapped!!!!

The esl dauterboard is now available for your ECU and you'll be looking at about £600 installed and mapped.

Any decent mapper i.e Steve Simpson, Duncan@racedynamix, JGM, Bob Rawle etc... will go over your car and ask you what you're after. They will be listening out for Det while mapping and if need be the car will be mapped for safety.

Find who is willing to supply and fit by making phone calls.

If your ecu cant use the ESL daughterboard i have a v4 sti ecu.

cheers for the reply

wow, £600, didnt want to spend quite that much LOL, was looking more or thinking more around the £350 mark LOL.

Hmm, that lin above says they use The OEM JECS ECU chip so im guessing thats a different version of the ESL daughterboard type ?

maybe a mail to one fo the mappers is in order :-)

cheers again

ESL is the way to go.
I also believe its quite a bit less than £600 to do.

why don't you try a polar performance chip to start of with , ups boost to 1.1bar etc.. ,

my old 95wrx with similar mods make near 300bhp with a pp chip

Cheers guys.

So ESL is the way to go, cool, i have contacted JGM thru here and await his reply, but Jay, i hear you and agree, but if it were say upto £350 and i gained 30 bhp say and some midrange torque, id be happy with that LOL, but with my improvments, i think maybe only 15-20 bhp would be gained, dunno, i wouldnt go to the max bhp as dont want it to go pop, just want that midrange grunt it seems to lack sometimes, against modded evo 5`s for instance boy they are quick !

But you would of seen far greater results with a custom map, so yes, the extra money is worth every penny.
