Anyone Seen This Before

I'm a big fan of the original snorkel, if they are good enough for JDMs/Spec Cs/WR1 etc etc etc then it's fine for our cars. First thing I did when I bought my STI was put the snorkel back on as it's omission could only draw warm air in from the engine bay in my view.
I went for the standard resonator box but only because I didn't know about the delete. Truth be told I noticed very limited difference in sound when I added the resonator back in, maybe the greatest difference in sound was when you are chugging around town in 5th but didn't notice much difference at speed.
However, I don't see how a cold air feed would be better than your proposal.

Sounds good, although getting your resonator out is a bit of a pain in the bum - plenty of vids on youtube that show you how to do it though I was lazy and paid a bloke with a spanner to do it for me

Might give this a try at the weekend, do you have to cover the bit you saw off the original part or just leave it with a hole in the bottom? seems like wasted air getting sucked in otherwise "/

I looked at one for my classic but ended up cutting the snorkle off, fiberglassing a boss onto it the cutting into the brake disc cooling duct in the bumper and flexipiping it all up. Nice neat job all out of sight and all the cold air upto the airbox the engine could ever ask for. I was bored and need to make something lol.
