Why STI-7 ?
#1
I keep reading posts where people refer to the STI UK as an STI-7. In Japan it has never been tagged as an STI-x as that ended with the STI-6. There are two models - the STI 2001 and the STI 2002. Surely if people insist on tagging the STI UK with a number it should be an STI-8?
I think this tagging originated in Australia?

Just some further info. In 1999 Australia got 400 STI version 5 coupes, in only 2 colours, sonic blue, (WRC blue) and white. They were plain STIs, not type Rs, with ABS, no water spray, no centre diff control and no inverted suspension. They had a revised ECU to cope with 95/96RON fuel.
In 2000 they got a further 400 STI version 6 sedans in 2 colours, white and steel blue, (cool grey). These were also the plain STI and not the type RA. These however, got the inverted suspension.
The new STIs are officially called the MY01 "new age" STI and the MY02 "new age" STI. The version tags are gone.
Cheers,
Wrexy.
