Pointless things in a Subaru
Don't know what it is with Subaru but they seem to like putting pointless unique features in our cars.
My classic had the infamous "bright" button and my blobeye has that pointless flap between the sun visors above the rear view mirror, I'll eat the wife's rag pants if I ever use it.
The fuel gauge is also pointless as its always reads empty

The middle pedal, commonly used on other marques to activate the braking system.
Just excess weight on an unmodified classic

Wheels (around here anyway).
We have so many speed bumps (some of which originally exceeded the maximum height and had to have their tops lopped off) that I'm trying to find out if caterpillar tracks are an optional extra.

It's not the pedal thats pointless its the little metal round things inside each wheel with those bits of cast iron hovering round them that beggars belief. I found the pedal to be a good foot rest on my classic, although on long journeys if I didn't use the accelerator I sometimes found myself stopping after a few miles if I rested my foot on the foot rest. I find the massive parking light switch with red 'idiot' paint on it, positioned where the hazards should be in my opinion is pointless. Never had that on any other car yet it had the same No. of lights afaik, just an extra switch capable of turning on blackpool illumiations judging by the size of it.

The little metal lug that sticks out on the edge of the window is a vortex generator. A lot of cars have them but then most cars have limo doors with upper frames.
What they do is cause a smallish vortex above the corners of the roof to guide the passing air and prevent lift and side forces deflecting your car at speeds and in cross winds.
Best drop the windows if you're putting it on a jack....
