My first HRC pump also failed. It was sent out without the metal enlarged end on the outlet....

Spoke to Rob and it was replaced and upgraded free of charge.

Did your failing pumps have these ends missing. They should look like this -

Without that lipped end the pipe will allow fuel to escape at high pressure.

The first one did have the lip missing. But didnt fail due to this, it just became a bit noisey and unable to keep up pressure at high end. Rob changed it wuthout issue. I did ask at the time if the hrc was ok with methonal and didnt get a difinative answer. This latest one has the lip. Has been fitted about six months and failed in almost the same way. Only difference on cold start idle pressure was ok. Cant say for high end as engine always cold. The further i drove the lower the pressure became. To the point idle pressure was around 1.5 bar at idle. the pump also sounded like it was struggling. Let it cool for a while and pressure rose again for a short while

Strange, mine was perfect after Rob replaced it. I also ran meth and didn't have any probs, was much much quieter than the walbro it replaced infact. Mine sat at circa 3 bar idle pressure and upwards of 4.5 bar at the top end.

The first pump I had from him (with the lip missing) was fine until the pressure rose above about 4 bar. Idle and cruising speed it was fine but as the pressure increased the fuel escaped. I did a bench test with it while at zen and it was obvious what was happening.

Sounds like they need to pay attention to the quality control dept. i know Rob replaced it no questions asked BUT that isnt the point once i fit something to my car i expect it to work properly, if it fails on quality control on the outside of the pump god knows whats going on inside the pump. IMO i wouldnt buy i rather stay with Walbro.
