After getting the Shell booklet on "where are shell garages" for optimax, I seem to find myself struggling to get to them rather than just going for some other fuel.

Anyway, I've got a 50ltr tank, and the lowest I've taken the guage was to the bottom of the last marking. I reset the tripmeter at the top of the last marking and got 25miles (at 56miles per hour).

The tank then took 47.9ltrs

Has anyone got any further when running low? Just want to know for piece of mind in the future.

I think I have a 60litre tank and can go to the middle of the letter E... this is a MY96 UK Wagon... which is about a 56litre fill...

PS: Don't forget the filler tube holds a couple of litres when full.

 

I can go all the way to just vapours and then suddenly it konks out, must be something to do with petrol or lack of it.
