What is an ANVIL valve ?

Rebecca has asked me to post these pics of a small valve on her scooby. The valve is on a 'T' piece on the pipe running from the waste gate control valve.
Pervious posts likened it to an Amil valve on the Ford cars, but this valve has NO electrical connections.
Could this be a question for you John F![](http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/wink.gif)
We look forward to your answers as neither myself or Rebecca have a clue what it is![](http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/redface.gif)

Puff, no that was the problem ... I thought it was an anvil valve because that's what it said on the service sheet .... but was told it was an amal valve .... but we've established that it isn't ... but now we need to know what it actually is and what it's supposed to do

Looks like an in car boost adjuster, but without the ****(blimey!). ![](http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/wink.gif)
Does this device have an orifice at one side (for any bled air to escape to atmosphere), and does the shaft turn? (mark where it is though, because if you open it too much, it could be fatal)
If so, then basicaly, it's a bleed valve and correct me if i'm wrong, but these are a big 'no no' on scooby's!!!
Unless anyone knows any different???
Regards,
MrWood.

Looks like a bleed valve , do you have a boost guage fitted ? if so what boost do you run ? a higher than standard setting could mean a superchip is fitted .
