Default WRC Decals or not WRC Decals

Hello,

I have a car for sale which is decaled up to look like Peter Solberg 2003 rally Japan car. I am not getting any interest and was wondering if people dont like cars with the decals.

Please can you give me your opinion

Many thanks
Mike

as you have asked for an opinion (before the usual whingers saying its your car etc)

I think it looks awful and id feel a complete tool driving a car covered in stickers as do most people.

id take them off give it a good polish and re advertise, its a good model and has wheels people like on the car. id also remove those spoiler things too.

Nope, people don't like cars with decals.
Get them off pronto and hope you don't damage the paint.

Your asking very strong money in my opinion especially given the fact it looks like it does. Best bet is to remove all stickers and give it a bloody good valet then readvertise with a slightly adjusted price.

Take them off. I recently bought my car with full rally decals (which I have now removed) I believe I got a great deal because most people in the market avoid these cars.

Use a heat gun and take your time, remove slowly. Get it mopped and detailed. Looks a nice car under the stickers

Subaru's rally success was long ago enough not to mean much anymore (bit like us keeping on about winning the World Cup in 1966 - 47 years ago FFS!) There must be so many people out there who would look at it and say "what's that all about"
Take them off but you'll need some serious machine polishing to remove all evidence!

I think the stickers create two problems upon selling, the obvious looking like a tool one, but secondly what damage is done to the paintwork upon removal

Although I totally ignored buying ANY blue new age due to them being so common in that colour, the stickered ones were the nail in the coffin.

As the others have said, done to death and chavvy in my opinion, get them removed properly and it can only help. I wouldn't actually mention that you ever had it stickered if you get potential buyers around after you sort it.

Take them off. You won't do any damage. If you heat them up first They will fly off. Ad actually be more surprised if you caused damage.

Mine had been on nearly 3 years and I took them off without damaging the paint work or with any other problems. Used bug and tar remover and a soft cloth to get rid of any remaining glue and a lot of elbow grease to polish after. If I had to do it again i think id buy one of them cheap machine polishers off ebay or from Halfords. Start on some of the smaller ones see how it goes if no problems then attack the big ones. Once your done and see how good it looks you may even want to keep the car

oh dear god, no wonder you've no interest! these graphics were done to death and never looked that good in the first place IMO.

Looks like a clean car underneath it all too so I'd certainly get them off

just to put my two penneth worth in. i personally like decalled cars mine was stickered up till very recently but just took em off cos they were looking very haggard and had shrunk over time. im umming and ahhing as to whether to redo them as i like the look. gotta be careful when your taking em off though fella i rushed one and took the bloody paint with it!!! make sure you heat it evenly and pull with firm but steady pressure.
as for the selling defo will sell better without the stickers as most dont like them, but some like me do..........saying that ive just put blue lights under my car so...... lol

i had stickers on mine for 3 years, it took me all day to remove the decals and the glue. then 2 days of polishing. then when it was frosty, you could still see where the stickers had been. it would have needed a good detailer doing paint correction or a full respray.

so, if i was looking for a car and saw one with stickers on, it would have to be seriously cheap to even consider it knowing what problems i could be faced with

Providing you have not had a bad paint job It will not pull any paint off and ounced you have warmed up the sticker pull it towards you like keep your hand close to the panel if you know what i mean and it won't leave the glue on the car

So if you peel a corner of the sticker pull it away from the way that the decal goes it works a treat and saves a lot if time using thinners to get of the glue

I think when selling a car mate you need to give someone a blank canvas.

That car is very much yours and what you think looks good so i'd ditch the decals buddy and just make it super clean.

Or the Vortex Generator Jury is out on whether they work or not but I would rather spin off into a hedge than glue that cr@p to my roof.

I'd add one more, that it's a car that's been boy-raced. I'd worry about how much life was left in some/all of the parts.

I hope they come off OK and GLWTS.
