£149.9 for shell nitro
#4
Filled up this morning and hand on heart I've stopped looking, I just brim it, pay and go. It's one of them things that we just have to bend ovet and take. Plus is that we get double points on Nitro so makes it closer to the price of standard fuel. I even put it in the missus A Class.

My local Shell does Nitro for 143.9-146.9, it fluctuates constantly.
But, about a month or so ago I got caught out on the motorway. I had to fill up and go mugged for 156.9 p/l at Shell! (Cobham services, biggest Shell in the country apparently)

1.56.9 a litre!, give it a few more years it'll be getting on for £2 a litre, it wouldn't change my love for scoobs tho

I went in to our local one and saw the price at 145.9 and thought f**k that and went to Tesco If I put Shell in it would only be like £10-£20 of normal fuel and then I would go to Tesco for the Momentum. Sorry but people moan about the prices of fuel but then are willing to get **** raped by Shell to which a lot of people don't see any difference (apart from in their pocket) in their cars and some still say that Tesco works better

It was about 4p/litre less than the nearest Shell V-Power (£1.36 against £1.40) and I have to say that the car's done about 20 miles more down to the halfway mark - that's about 3mpg more, with no change in the driving profile.
Even at double points you don't get enough back to cover the increase.

I've stopped buying V-Power now because of the price. Not that I can't afford it but more that I refuse to pay it when Tesco Momentum works an absolute treat and is around the £1.36 - £1.38 mark up here.

I did a comparison a few weeks ago full tank of nitro twice then momentum. In drivability absolutely no difference both brilliant but got about 50 miles more out of a tank on momentum and the driving was exactly the same and journeys were the same, so momentum for me. However my 2011 yamaha r1 is totally different. Run on normal unleaded goes like ****. Run on any 99 ron stuff and it's a bag of ****. Bogs down, doesn't run properly etc. So different machines different results!

Interesting eh?
We are looking at a 15% improvement in mpg and a saving of around 2.8% on fuel costs into the bargain !
Who mentioned financial rape ?

Like I said from day 1
When the thread about NITRO was raging & peeps were saying its making my car better, faster , etc etc
It's all tosh , it's the same fuel with a few friction reducers added , & a very well PR campaign on SHELL'S business .
They suck you in dropping the price at initial launch
Then push through the roof ,,
It's the only fuel I use also ( so I'm a sucker 2 )
Well done !!!!
