Been and gone and done it
It will get out eventually so I'll confess now.
I gave it a week to see in my heart of hearts if I'd made a decision I'm happy with, and I am.
I decided to give Perrin Stiffies a try, on the basis that:
a) I wanted to 'individualise and personalise' the car in some small way;
b) done the way I prefer I think they look 'aesthetically pleasing';
c) after reading a thread about 'wing judder' I started looking for - and noticing - it;
d) the box - sorry, area bounded by the spoiler - looked empty;
e) they'd add resale value to the car - alright, that's a joke. It was that they could be removed without damage (unlike the 50 stickers I was going to order - that IS a joke).
So, firstly thanks to the Clinic for the prompt delivery etc.
Then thanks to a good local bodyshop that colour-matched them WRC blue and fitted them.
The result?
a) I have now put my small stamp on the car;
b) I think they are aesthetically pleasing;
b) I haven't noticed any juddering since they were fitted (though I have still to go out after dark);
d) the car looks and feels more of a beast ().
Have I committed sacrilege, and if so, am I to be consigned to bacefook?
Is Jackson Pollack still alive, and does he do cars?
Am I going through 'post new ownership syndrome'?

I'll put some up, after I've taken some, after I've washed the car, after the rain's stopped for more than an hour..... after today.
Fwiw I don't like the look of them 'raw'. I think they look plasticky (sorry Perrin and any owner), not even being CF finish.
I'm very happy with them colour-matched though, and the strengthening helps, especially if a tree falls on the car ( erm..... ignore that ).
Considering that the paint job cost less than the pair of them, AND the lads gave me the rest of the paint, ready for touch-ups, I think it's been a worthwhile exercise.
But you can be the judge of that.
Now, where's the charger for the camera................

Not sure what you mean.
I was talking about the horse to get the family box brownie from my cousin in Taunton.
As above, it's a long way to Taunton.
And it's raining.
As I've said, I never gave it a thought, and it's chucking it down now, so first thing tomorrow it gets its midweek wash and polish, then a set of piccies.

The proof of the pudding, as they say:
The Box Brownie might be an older-style camera but it does the job.

I don't believe it !
My daughter saw me taking some photos and said "no Dad, we use the phone these days", then she pointed her phone and took these:
I think I'll have to cross the Bridge and catch up on technology.
Anyway, there you go.
Thanks for the feedback and views btw.
Cheers.

I quite like that!
If people can put roof vents on non spec c's
Change from a pre facelift to facelift
Put p1 splitters on non p1's. I think you're getting my drift
Good job
Ps, ask your daughter how to copy and paste the img code into the thread

OK I'll start.... they look pretty good to me.
I mean at the end of the day you have a wing the size of a picnic table on the car already so if you are hapy with that these certainly make it no worse and as said they actually do something.

Thank you.
I have, and she asked "is it a spellin mistake. Shudnt it be OMG"?
The Mobiles might have advantages but they have disadvantages too.
Good point though.
I'll get on the case now, save others from having to click.
Cheers.

Box Brownie? Money must grow on trees in Wales, we have to draw pictures of things here in Lancashire.
You've got an absolutely lovely car there mate, I personally don't "do" the wing stiffies but they don't look 100% terrible. I think they'd be much better if they didn't have large "Perrin" logos down the side.
Now all you need are some Monster Energy stickers, Lexus lights, VTA dump valve and a home made bonnet scoop to complement an even larger fake roof vent and you're done.

Yes they are.
Those in the picture don't seem like real Reggies though. I can't see the embossing.
And there's been a bit of economising - you can get 5 in there.
Apparently however, the more you put in the harder it is to add the next one.
Apparently the closer you are to the sides, the stiffies lift the top section slightly more, so the poor old ones in the centre have to have extra 'tiger tape' in order to plug the gap.
I suppose someone on bacefook has already thought of filing a groove in the spoiler in order to avoid having to do that.

We are quite fortunate too. A couple of weeks back my other daughter got married. It means that we now have access to our son-in-law's family's gramophone.
Thanks for the comments. I agree about the logos and as it happens they also come with Perrin stickers !
As I've said, I wouldn't have them 'raw', they look false to me that way but it's in the eye of the beholder as they say.
Now, let's see if Gaz, Tubbs and Merv can kit me out with the rest............
Cheers.
