Possibly but depends if you then plan on modifying it, as the uk300 is just a tarted up wrx, if you plan on running more power than standard then start of with an STi otherwise the uk300 is a good car just will pay more as its a special edition, i have had a few to drink tonight so there's a good chance this is wrong but I though they didn't officially make a blob uk300 or I might be thinking of something else someone else confirm this please

I wanted a wr1 when they 1st came Out due to the funky colour that's what I used to think anyway but I was only younge then!!
When I purchased mine in july of last year I looked at the wr1 but the price didn't justify the colour for me so saved myself 2k and got a lovely blob with DCCD same spec minis the black seats and foglights and the badge but 2k saving made sense then!
They still seem to fetch good money now and are selling still

Got to admit I am not a fan of the WR1 colour either and doesn't justify the premium considering the cost to get an STi to the same power as a WR1 plus how many STi's are standard nowadays anyway!

If you buy that better save some spare cash for a new gearbox and clutch if it still running with the stock WRX, think the power stated is slightly optimistic too - had a remap but doesn't know the bhp its running?? sounds dodgy to me if its the same car you are looking at.

Simple things to note. STi will give your hand blisters- the 6 speed is pretty close and clicky. It's fun when thrashing and bulletproof, but for everyday use OTT.
The WRX is a quick car- seriously quick. Think Sierra Cosworth fast. All because it isn't an STi doesn't mean it won't be a thrill. Cossie only had 5 gears too.
If I had a choice, seeing as what I use my car for, I'd have got a WRX instead. Doh.
Go for a standard car if you can, or one with receipts and full history. Every mod needs to be justified and not something the "previous owner put on".
Best of luck.

It's really down to what you want from a car I bought a couple of years ago a 03 blob wrx ppp fsh a file full of invoices gen sti spoiler, lowered, sti wheels etc etc only done 45,000 miles I paid 4250 for Yes not the fastest scooby out there but for day to day driving and the odd blast around the lake district it's more than upto the job do your homework buy with your head & not your heart & you should be ok

yeah the uk300 was a bugeye only, they did another limited edition, the WRX300 in 2005, pretty much same as uk300. PPP as standard, 265bhp, limited run 300 etc etc (i have one)
Me too, wounder how many of the 300 are still alive?

Mine unmodded, except previous owner changed wheels from gold to the dark silver ( dont know proper name for that colour) they look good on it but may try find gold one's.
But leaving feedback for original thread question, like most are saying WRX if its your daily drive, STI if its a weekend toy.

Have a look at cars slightly out of reach too that are up for maybe 5k and try a cheeky bid if you find one you really want, you never know the market is as flat as a pancake at the moment for sellers, so you can afford to be picky / cheeky.
