The best exhausts are the ones that are quiet'ish at cruising speed but come to life when the pedal is pushed all the way down.
I had a full 3" de-cat tornado system on my classic. You could cruise at 80 in comfort with no cabin drone, and then when you felt like a loon it would spark into life and bark like a stabbed rottie.
Ive had super loud exhausts before, trust me, the novelty soon wears off.
Theres a lad in town with a full nur spec and in all honesty he looks like a prat driving round.

Would really love to here a nur spec. I really do agree with the point made about being able to be quite when light on the accelerator. But i really want the nur spec sound. Im thinking what may be a good idea to keep in cat wise. I want to remove up pipe and down pipe cat may keep in the centre section standard and i think that should suit my needs. I sometimes go out to play with few freinds on the very loud race quads the roar is such a turn on ha. People stop what they're doin and stare nur spec and race quads tearing up the streets is pure excitement such a rush in my eyes. Fekk it im goin nur spec ha. Can always quiten down later if i change my mind.
Thanks for input guys.

Really love my nur spec fitted to my new age the sound in the cabin is fine barley hear it, that's still with a cat in the downpipe mind you, I want it louder in the car so I can hear it without needing the windows down! I know the new age has better sound deadening to the classic so bear that in mind

I have a fully decated NUR spec on my blob sti. It sounds great when someone else drives the car and you are not in it but its far too loud inside. Just a drone, I can't wait to change it..
Only funny thing is loads of people stare in disgust - you can see their faces and heads shaking

Just recorded you 2 videos so you can see what cabin noise is like,
as you hear its sort of loud when you accelerate but when you sit a certain speed i was doing 60 there my R888 tyres make more noise/drone/rumble than my exhaust, can barley hear the Nur Spec
Next i recorded a clip with my music on (sorry if not to your taste) i still have my original tape player head unit fitted and on that the volume was set at 14 and you can clearly hear the music no problem
Doesnt help with the phone being so far away from any speakers so the music might not sound so clear to some but it is sat in the drivers seat

Dan, you must have the world's quietest Nur Spec system then as I have owned two and they are horrific for both cabin and outside noise on non-sound deadened scoobs IMO.
The first one I had was on a STI2 with decat and it was stupidly noisy. I was young at the time and thought it was fun but my trip to work only took 10 minutes.
Current scoob came with one too, also decatted and it was bloody awful. The cabin noise inside for anything over the 2 minute journey caved your skull in. I had it off the car as soon as I possibly could, good riddance. The other cars all have Milltek systems/sports cats on them and sound beautiful/aggressive, without sounding utterly retarded.

Maby it's because I'm still running my downpipe cat but I don't know, I know it's still quite loud when it comes to track days as I need a bung fitted to get it through, 115db at 4k revs with a limit of 101db
The bung brings the noise down to 94db huge improvement, I can record you a snippet tonight with the bung but won't hear anything in the car as its silent only tyre whine

On the STI2 if memory serves (talking 10 years ago now....) I went from whatever was on there connected to the Nur, to a 3" decat downpipe that matched the 3" Nur and the noise went up by an impressive amount.

I am in no rush and do just about have enough packaging to put together an acceptable box chap, courier would hopefully only add £15 to the price if lucky. Just to confirm, you have read all the details on the exhaust on there and looked at the pics?
Feel free to post on that actual thread.

mnem1c, that sounds a hell of a lot quieter than both of my ones.
Brett, can't really help you on that I am afraid, all I can say is that on an aftermarket single piece downpipe, there is a mounting bracket that runs along the bottom of the pipe where it bolts to the gearbox or something like that. The distance between that bracket and the end of the pipe (flange) is what you need to measure.
I don't know if a blitz newage system will bolt directly on to whatever multi-catted setup Subaru stuck on those, you need people in the know to tell you.

Apparently not according to blitz website its sayin it will only fit a japanese import model sti.
:,(
That being said im sure it could maybe made fit by a good welder/bodger ha.
I will look further into it and get back to u.
If you was willing to accept a lower price i would take the back box on its own leaving you to sell centre section maybe.

No problem but I won't be left with a centre section that I cannot use. About 3 people have asked that now, without even knowing if their centre section will match up in the same place.
