Default Power?

Morning all as per my thread about a week ago I have decided to sell my Classic turbo 2000 running over 300bhp and upgrade to a uk wrx sti or a jdm wrx sti as soon as some funds im waiting on arrive but can't make up my mind help is appreicated to assist me in coming to a decision. The question I have is how much power would either of the 2 mentioned above need in order to keep up with my classic and feel as rapid? Thanks in advance and feel free to help me with both questions in this thread.

I think there's a few more questions needed first:

a) how much are you looking to shell out;
b) (although dependent upon your answer above) do you have a preference for a particular model style;
c) have you considered the possibility of part ex (in case you can't get a sensible buyer/price) ?

GLWTS, and even more luck avoiding starting a war between the WRX, STi, UK and JDM factions

you will need about 350bhp to factor in for the extra weight in the STi.

my mate has a Classic STi with short shift box and Simtek ECU, his feels really hard core.
Mine if running about 340bhp and keeps up with him, He maybe a little better through gears but mine nips back.

Plenty of opportunities with that sort of cash I'd say, including having a bit left over for mods possibly.

I haven't driven a blob so I'm not really qualified in respect of drivability etc.

No doubt there's plenty who can give you pertinent advice (and who won't mind spending your cash for you ).

Happy hunting.

Chances are I'm wrong here but I swear I read somewhere that the new age isn't that much heavier than the classic it just holds the road better and feels more planted?

It is quite a bit heavier, roughly a quarter of a ton give or take a few kg. They are much stiffer though so feel more planted (or boring if your a classic fan like myself..lol....)

Ohh okay 250kg is quite a lot of weight! I'm yet to drive a classic so I have no idea what there like!
