Silly old git thought it was my fault.

Thats not where I'd have stuck it.

Anyhoo, I'd recommend you blank out your number plate in that photo before someone copies it and...............

Have you informed the police and expressed a wish to press charges for "Undue care and attention?". Will help your insurance case.

Any witnesses?

Grrrr...

My sympathies!

As far as the insurance goes you should be laughing, damag to the rear of your car/front of his so no problem there.

Using phones in the car
I have a car kit, don't see a problem with that
as for people hand holding them driving - that is just plain stupid

Don't forget tomorrow morning your neck will be as stiff as hell and you will need a couple of days off at your doctors advice. Make sure you put a claim in for this.

Forgot to say hope you are ok.

Edited to remove the smilie as it seems to have caused offence. I am in no way infering that anyone should make a fraudulent claim.

Si.

Phil,

personal hate of mine just highlighted!!. the use of Phobile Moans whilst driving...it's so stoopid, hands free kits in important cases I understand...though then you still can't 100% concentrate, but it relly p1sses me off seeing people holding phones, gassing whist driving...seen a few (particularly young women) give the bird - so no hands on wheel at all!!! to other frustrated drivers after being cut up etc...

otherwise, genuinely gutted for you mate, I know it can be repaired etc... but you look after that motor, love it and it aint perfect no more now!! and you couldn't have done a sodding thing about it!

I must admit the neck does feel a bit stiff

I have a full handsfree kit but I never take my eyes of the road as I only take incoming calls via auto answer

just to add the guy was at least 75 and when he reversed off my car and got out he left the handbrake off and it nearly hit my car again to add insult to injury

God I am really pissed off

Police are a waste of time in cases like this. My girlfriend & daughter were hit head on by an old lady who had fallen asleep at the wheel. She admitted to feeling tired when driving and said she was very sorry. We wanted her prosecuted and taking off the road. The police decided that all she would have to do was take a driving refresher course and we would have to bring a private prosecution. It makes you feel safe on the road knowing there are people like this out there, not.

Silly old sod doing that but some of these comments suck, what's the difference in adjusting the stereo, smoking, etc, it's down to concentration at the end of the day, not what you have in your hand.

I like what he said, bl00dy cheek springs to mind. Typical of the police I supose but if they see you they fine you if you crash nothing happens how does that work? Bet you wish you had a tape recorder now? Hope it all goes through the insurance ok. Is it just the bumper? You must have done well to keep cool in a situation like that.

Portuguese highway code now changed only to allow hands-free kits. If using phone without HFK, you can be fined up to 600 euros (400 quid). I heard in Spain (but am not sure) that they are, or are thinking of, even banning HFKs!

That's the law. Now let's see how they enforce it

Sorry to hear about this Phil Good to hear no one is in hospital! As for your whiplash, it is normal for the symptoms to develop 24 - 72hrs AFTER the time of the accident, even when there is no apparent injury at the time! So it would be quite normal for you to develope the symptoms of whiplash over the next few days.Noticed any tingling sensations in your fingers/hands/arms yet? You will! I recommend the use of a good chiropractor to "fix" you... I was told by several doctors that my injuries from an accident(woman using her mobile went into back of me on the motorway, mine a write off!) would clear up with time...they didn't! Now seeing a chiropractor and things are getting back to normal. Expect a few grand compansation for your injuries, think of the BHP that could buy

Still going for the clear rear lights from TSL? Couldn't you get them on the insurance claim for the accident? I'm sure both your lights have cracks in them

I know that the Plod aren't interested but they can proove he was on the phone at (or about) the time it happened as either he was making a call or someone was making a call to him (OK not rocket science) but there will be a LOG/RECORD of it somewhere.

Put in a PI claim and that sort of info will help your case, but insist the plod investigate too.

Thanks for all the PI advice guys

But thank god I am fine and I'm just too honest the loss adjuster would be down and see fraudulant claim written all over my face

So all I want is a quick resolution

BodyShop was waiting for parts prices before putting estimate in but hopefully the can start work Thursday

I might even be able to borrow the Governors Weekend car while its in for repair (Porsche 996 Cabrio)

But thanks again for the kind words

Phil
