Dump Valves?

Dump Valves?
So I've read a few story's about dump valves not being very good on Scoobys for the engines as it can make them run rich?
I just wondered if this is true or if they are fine to run, reason I ask it my mate has just sold his Scooby and gave me his Collins D/V.
Now I've run a lot of turbo cars with D/V'S(Sierra Cosworth, WRX Type RA, RS Turbo, MR2, MKIV Golf 1.8T, Pulsar GTiR) and without (Cupra R, WRX Classic, Golf MKIV 1.8T, RS Turbo) D/V'S and never had a problem or really noticed any difference to the cars running, (never run a BOV though)
So what is the problem on the engine with running them,
Thanks

Keep the factory recirculating dump valve currently fitted to your car
....and never speak of this again
VTA dump valves are often accused of bore wash and badly adjusted can make a car run poorly or damage weak turbos... but most they're just ghey
This might help to avoid any further embarrasment caused by mentioning DV's

Can we try and get away from this idea that a certain section of the community, often accused of being old, just don't like dumpvalves?
My car is a classic UK 98 car. As such, it arrived with a low spoiler, 16" wheels and tyres, two-pot brakes at the front and single sliding caliper at the back, no splitter, no rear wash-wipe and a fairly basic interior.
All that, and more, has been changed.
But I took the advice of respected engine tuners on here, read up on why a VTA dumpvalve causes issues with running on a Scoob, and stuck with my recirculating type.
NOT because I don't like VTA valves, NOT because I'm an old fogey, NOT because I don't want people to have fun in/with their cars, but because, haviong done the research, that's the dumpvalve that's best for my car.
Now, YOUR car......well, it's your choice.

if its a recirculating vavle its fine but an atmospheric dumper means that air doesn't enter chamber, because it has already been accounted for after the maf you will notice the difference, but as above stick with oem as some of the ones out there may not be able to hold boost stable

Been done so many times
Even hitting the 10 pager once
Most threads get to 4/5 pages
Normally a good old debate from the the higher posters who gave good constructive advice of why they are bad and have to suffer abuse from the low posters who think its cool to have a dv ( I would imagine quite a few are for sale on eBay now )
Best do a search on here as nobody can be bothered to repost or even past and copy the same info again why DV on cars effect running and cause problems

I was generally interested on the views in regards to engine problems/damage, I'm not labelling anyone without a D/V as boring or old lol. Same as I wouldn't label anyone with one as a chav as I've had them in the past and I'm not a chav, my Sierra Cosworth needed a updated dump valve due to the boost it was running but it didn't dump very loud.
I had one on my last Scooby and on another one it didn't have one both were remapped though so maybe this is why it didn't run bad or feel any different.
I'm not actually wasting money on buying one my mate has given me his old Collins one.
I don't intend on getting my car remapped as I'm done with all the BHP gains at the moment just want a nice reliable car.
I have searched about on this now and it's seems everyone has there own opinion in if there good or bad and if the gaaaayyy lol or not.
But some good info on here especially the link 53 threw up.

For my own piece of research/justification, I bought a cheap BOV on here, and put it on my remapped car (mapped with standard recirc valve). First gear change and there was a psst then a big pop from the exhaust, second change, another bang. That to me was my car telling me that it didnt want to play ball. I'm not the most technical, but I guess that the ecu was pouring fuel in to the point it was quite a rich mixture.
The valve came back off and is sat in the garage.
I now have no MAF so it can now go back on should I choose.
