Can anyone tell me what would be the best induction kit to fit to my MY00 Sport, also what would be the best exhaust to fit.
Do scoobysport make exhausts for this model or are they only for the Turbo versions

I'd go for K&N - there's a fitting guide on my site.

Cheers,

Nick.

I would not fit any induction kit on my car now - used to have a K&N and I can vouch that Chiark's instructions are very good. MAF sensors do go on standard cars as well of course. But it is engine threatening (arguably far more so on the turbo cars, and I'm not sure if your Sport has the same MAF sensor). Someone on the BBS had their engine recently let go, and there was also a MAF sensor failure - a K&N cone was on at the time - who knows if it was the cause. Unless you remap for it it just makes a low down lean spot worse on the Turbo cars and makes a load of noise. Those that have had MAF sensors go on them find it can happen suddenly and on full boost suddenly can find the mixture going dangerously lean- ie lean enough that you have to back off to save your engine.

Maybe I am scaremongering, but the MAF is obviously very important and there is no check on the ECU to see if the readings are "sensible" hence it can run 3% CO or less on full boost and not report an error. It will try and retard and add fuel, but possibly not enough.

I have a MRT induction kit which is great and you don't need a dump valve for the noise

Thumbs up

For a Sport, I'd just go for the ITG panel filter and either the Magnex, TSL or ScoobySport exhaust

[Edited to say - All 3 do a Sport specific exhaust]

I think the problem with the K&N and the MAF was down to the oil on the filter getting on the hotwire, messinf up its readings and therefore fuelling.
