Thoughts on a claim made through PayPal
Well like an idiot bought a prodrive bumper off a guy breaking a bug on eBay. Sorted a price with him then sent him £275 through PayPal (sent as goods and not gift)
Ok so jake receives the bumper at his place (pannel care Rochdale) and tells me it's in a pretty bad way and needs not only a re spray but fixing and it's already had a fix on it previously.
Sent the buyer a text saying I wasn't happy and wanted to return the bumper for a full refund which firstly he agreed then went all quiet. Thinking I'm not going to be stung I open a case through PayPal which at the moment is in the (PayPal reviewing) stage.
What I want to know is has anyone been down this route and what actually happens? The bumper was described to me as having a few marks and stone chips which is clearly false. These are some pics of it
Do we think ill get my money back or will he be in the right?

if he has agreed to take it back presumably by ebay message, paypal will be able to see this and will settle in your favour i.e. return for refund
just make sure its traceable when you return it,

Pursue a damaged/not as described route till the very end, and then escalate Bang on with the same reply and you'll get your money. Rightly or wrongly Paypal 9/10 side with the buyer.

Cheers guys for the reply
I've escalated to item damaged and also messages were through text Dan which I've kept for proof. He then had the nerve to say send me the bumper back and ill give you a mint one for £500!!
I paid through PayPal with my credit card wonder if I could claim it back through Barclays?

PayPal are usually good, just takes time usually, the texts wont help, you want to try and keep all communication via the websites so its all recorded, offer to summit the photos and ' experts' view the bumper is crap. hope you get it sorted mate

Thanks guys
@ Micky that's made me chuckle mate
Yep turned his £500 bumper down lol. No more texts, infact I'm doing everything through PayPal and if that doesn't work will contact Barclays see what they can do.
The moron told me the bumper just needs a spray because of the scuffs and stone chips. Hopefully PayPal sort it but I'm not holding my breath they're a bunch of ***** too lol

If he goes quiet eBay will refund your cash without you needing to return the bumper - it was a recent change to their T&Cs. If that's the case I'll gove you £50 for it and fix it up myself

I sent him one back saying why don't you arrange your own courier to collect, didt get a message back after that lol.
Not sure on postage costs but will cut my losses and send it. PayPal want to see proof of postage etc.
