Worth bearing in mind that using car covers on dirty cars can cause damage to paint, marring etc, that's why I don't use one as my car is a daily.

Is it really worth it?

Unless it's an old leaky convertible, I think you're much safer just leaving it open to the elements and keeping ontop of cleaning/de-salting through winter.

Seeing as nobody else could be bothered to give you a straight answer, I have one of these:
http://www.coveryourcar.co.uk/store/product.php?productid=16243

Seems to do the job well, fits the car for the spoiler (v6), mirror pockets are a few inches off though.

I'm gonna be at sea over the winter so I may buy one of these too:
https://www.carcoon.com/carcoon-double-skin-outdoor

Both quite expensive options but I wouldn't put a cheap one
Totally agree about not putting a cover on when the car is dirty though.
Hope that helps
Paul.

I've had the Stormforce about 6months but my car has only lived outside for the last few weeks. It's elasticated at the bottom so fits a little like a bedsheet and happily accomodates the high spoiler. It's got straps underneath so in the worst gales it aren't going to blow away.
It seems quite heavy duty without being like tarpaulin.

I suppose, but if the car's clean and the inside is soft (it is on the stormforce) then so what?

I got banned from driving for 28 days back in 2000 for speeding, put a halfords cover on my car at the time and must have been condensation or something but it had faded patches all over it when i took the cover off. They wouldnt polish out either.
That was solid paint tho
