Sold my modded blob wagon last year for a diesel Audi and predictably I'm now bored. My first scoob was a classic so now toying with a hawk WRX wagon. Now I don't know much about the 2.5s but do remember the odd horror story about engines, so, can someone put me straight on whether it's a good idea to go Hawk, what to look out for and what to avoid?

Plenty of threads about 2.5 lumps gong bang due to head gasket, and oil pick up I think, there a bad engine unless there forged around £3k for a decent forged engine, so bear that in mind.

Personally,I would stick with a 2.0 ltr.
If you want hawk then either get a 2.0 JDM or get a cheap blob and change the front end to Hawk.
