Default Subaru Engine noise help?

Hi could some one have a listen to my video link below to YouTube to see what you think is wrong with my Subaru it has developed a knocking noise any help would be greatly appreciated thanks

could it be somthing simple like a split cambelt and it slapping on the casing ,it doesnt sound good

Yep that there is them there pesky big ends, knocking like a good un!

sounds a bit like something else has gone too at the top, as you have two knocks one top end and the definitive bottom end knock too.

Edit to add it's probably the top of a rod, don't run it again.

I have check all the cam belt and tensioners but they are all good so my worst fear has come true do I need a whole me engine or can I replace certain bits?

Either rebuild that one. or a second hand newage bottom end and bolt your heads to it.

Total rebuild or second hand STI engine off one of the breakers on here, i'm afraid.

I'm afraid that because the crank is the last part you get to when doing a strip down, it is either a complete rebuild or a replacement engine. May be a repalcement short block?

Thanks all for the advice guys were can I find the breakers page on here? Also can any one recommend a engine rebuilder in SouthWales that does Subaru engines?
