any opinions on what it would be worth?? Already been talking to the seller and wouldn't be paying the asking price.

If Andy mapped it, then it'll be pretty awesome.

nice car and spec. 350 bhp easily achieveable on vf35. my only concern would be the eml coming on now and again. id want that investigated for sure for 6.5k. if he added the dv then hes the reason its not running properly as it obviously wasnt on the car when it was mapped. try contacting andy f with the reg number he probably has a note of the car and maybe can give you some info on it.

This is the car that someone posted a thread about very recently, asking if anyone on here had owned it at all.

(Can't be ar$ed to dig it out, sorry - but it was this week I think).

Yea that was me that posted it, I changed the thread title though. Yes current owner had the dv fitted, although he's only had car since march but being sent out in the army is reason for sale. Car would be getting remapped again anyway to bring down power a little. Hopefully going to view it Sunday if it gets MOT'd in time

Interesting turn of phrase "the remapping can be turned off".

I'd agree with yabbadoo re. the eml and the DV etc.

It's at the pricier end of the range, perhaps even off the top of it - it's basically a WRX remember - and I'd be very fussy if I was going to pay that amount.

Personally, if it was in super nick (which it's not, needing a bumper respray ideally) I'd look at around £1K or more less, on the basis that it will need a remap and the eml issue.

I also think the seller's leaving themself open a bit, by saying they're going away for 6 months. Could find his back to the wall and have to sell low.
There are vultures out there.

Well I've been talking to the chap, I'm looking to get it under 6 maybe but not quite £1k. Funny thing is other than the fact the cars not white it's exactly how I was planning to mod mine when I get one. The person actually selling it is the guys brother I believe aslong as last names match the logbook can't see it being an issue

In that case try to knock him down by £3-4K because it needs a full respray.

If he's in the army I understand the difficulty of selling it, but I do try to be as 'awkward' as possible, on the basis that if you prepare for any eventually you'll never get caught out.

If the surname is a common one they might not be brothers.
I'd have thought that the registered keeper would have signed the 'I've sold the car' bit, ready for the sale.
Check that the address on the V5 is where you're viewing it, and also when you pay insist that it goes into the registered keeper's bank account.
There's no reason for it not to after all, is there?

Good luck with the viewing and possibly the purchase.

Following on again from yabbadoo's comments if you do buy it it might be helpful to remove the DV and reinstate it to original and see whether you get the eml. At least that way you'll get an early idea whether something isn't quite right or whether it was something simple after all.

Top money for a WRX that's not mint, verging into STI money!

I'd be looking at a hardball offer of around £5k then prob go to £5.5k max, needs bumper re-spraying and a remap, plus a standard D/V there's a good £500+ spent there!

It's a good spec though what's the service history like?

Also don't be falling for the 'army' trick a lot of my mates are in the army they know they can be called away anytime doesn't mean they sell there cars though, just be sure that EML light isn't something worse and there trying to shift a lemon!

from what Ive been told service is there up until march 2013 which was when it was last serviced.

There a few small things starting to make me go off the car, if there not willing to budge on price then I think ill pass, just getting a tad annoying now as im currently sharing a car again which isn't easy trying to work it around 2 peoples working shifts etc and the fact a lot of people seem to be asking like 4500 to 5000 k for pretty much standard 80-90k mile WRX's.

Feel I should of kept previous car a tad longer now until I found something to replace it with :/

Its not worth 6 grand thats for sure.
And the statement, " the eml comes on now and again but im not bothered " would put me off.

Someone who isn't bothered about the eml is quite possibly not bothered about maintaining it (or ragging it for that matter).

wasn't doubts as such, just no real idea on what would of been worth, tend to see fair few people state how weak the wrx engines / gearboxes are yet majority of the people still demand fairly high premium for them.

Id be happy to find a reasonably standard one for around £3500 and do it up myself, but puts me off when people seem to be wanting over £4k

well the brother just passed my number onto the owner, have now been put off by his attitude more than anything. Car needs an MOT and stated to brother to get one put on before weekend as id need drive it away.

Was told earlier it two wheels are kurbed aswell. so told the brother something needs to be done on price, as may be in need of remap, n wheels need refurbing and tax is up at end of the month.

I told brother id offer 5600, he just text back saying could take it for 5600 without MOT but meant cant drive it home so said ok 5650 with MOT.

Get text off owner then saying doesn't need a remap having the hks bov on as theres no issue with the air as he put it.
and that my offers far to low, and an extra 50 isn't going to cut a deal.

Right I found two expired adverts of the car up for 5800 at start of august, exactly same ad as above, n hes telling me its up for 6500 as he had clutch brakes etc done, yet stated that in the 5800

Well I for one am feeling a little chuffed now.

Once again the community's done the business and enabled someone to prevent themselves getting ripped off.

And I hope the op's also very satisfied, in a peculair sort of way (but you know what I mean).

As someone's said, wait long enough and the right one will come along.

I hope it's not too long a wait.

judging by the price of the wrx on their website im fairly sure they will be out of my budget 103k - 4.3k OUCH!

And yes that's why I don't really like using the swapz or gumtree, but you can find the odd nice car every now and then

Use your head not your heart.
Don't buy the wrong car just because you're desperate.

Me, personally, id tell him to jog on and keep hunting for the RIGHT car. I know the money is burning a hole but trust me, a rush purchase and an impreza really don't go hand in hand.
