Default Felt like i hit a brick wall, whats wrong??

Hi guys, long time since i posted on the forum but just wondered if anyone could offer any advice.

The other day whilst driving home in the peaks i thought i'd have a nice blast in the classic. (Mapped by JGM etc). Driving superb for about 10 mins boosting all the time and then nothing. Was at about 5000rpm and it felt as though i had hit a massive puddle. The car was rough for the rest of the way home and seemed to me to be missing but since it seems ok other than idling poor. I have driven on boost a couple of times since but nothing to the extent i was on the day.....

Any advice would be really appreciated.

Have you checked all your pipes work? Had a similar effect when I blew an intercooler pipe of my MR2

Cheers Paul, not fully checked them but quick head under the bonnet didn't reveal anything.. I'll have abetter look in the morning. What pipe do you think may be the cause? A mate a work said change the lamda sensor, but for what happened i can't see this being the cause

Pipe work from turbo to intercooler and beyond.

Just changed my lambda sensor , due to failure, symptoms were slight stutter on acceleration and fumey exhaust

Fuel cut? Was it over boosting?

Cheers guys, i'll fully inspect the pipes in the morning. As for over boost i am still running the original fuel pump but would this cause it to run poor on idle??

Defo sounds like fuel cut. That's a freightning experience I used to get it on one of my old scoobs. That's the feeling of like hitting a brick wall.

It could be fuel cut but that is an instantaneous thing which resolves itself. If still running bad then maybe the MAF sensor?

It's not lambda as lambda sensors don't operate at full throttle. Do you have a boost gauge? Boost leak or boost spike causing fuel cut could be contenders.

I would have said fuel cut but this usually clears straight away. Just to clear it up, how much fuel did you have in the tank at the time?

so could be fuel cut and/ or overboost cut due to cooler air, but its unclear whether its still running badly now or whether it went back to normal. If it went back to normal then it's probably one of the above. If it didn't, then its something else along the lines of the other suggestions
