Timo, imprezas with the adjustible diff control handle COMPLETLY different to the 'normal' imprezas. The first time i took mine out (sti5typeR) i had the diff fully off (bottom green setting)
and it was wet. I was going around a round-a-bout and put the gas on, now in a 'normal' impreza this would not b a problem, but, in mine the back end stepped out big time and i had some serious correcting to do!
I owned a wrx for 2 and a half years, and believe me the handling was a different ball game. Unless you have driven a rear wheel drive before the handling will scare the sh*t out of yourself if you give it a boot like you will have done in a previous impreza.
On the diff setting point, i find its best to have the diff fully off, on the 1st green setting for normal dry use. When im booting it on twisty roads i move the diff up accordingly. In the wet it goes on first yellow. Every1 has different tastes for their diff control. I being not experienced in rear wheel drive err on the side of caution.I am trying to get some advanced tuition in this or a similar set up so i can make more use of the car.
