Hi all

Heres a thought about fuel prices:

Crude Oil prices vary... due to companies making less, or wars...

Fuel Prices vary coz of crude oil prices, TAX, public outcry at prices...

The Government blames the Oil Companies for price increases due to crude oil prices.
The Oil Companies blame the Government for high prices coz of TAX.

Hows about:
The government fixes a maximum price - so if crude oil prices increase we dont get the price increased at the pumps - they just effectively reduce the TAX (they are getting loads anyway)?

Maybe theres more to it... competition etc...

But I dont see why something cant be worked out where the Oil Companies and the Government agree something.

Seems logical.

This is an illogical world tho.

I am not a money man, just a developer... enlighten me?

And.. where can i get SUL in Tayside???

I worked in South Africa 5 years ago and the petrol price was set by the government then. The way you chose a filling station then was the level of service they offered. You could get your car filled up, your windows cleaned and your tyre pressures checked all while you sat in the car!
