For the fact of the 2.5 engine?
As I always see threads on here about people wanting a hawk but then getting told no don't go for it!?

Bugs are fugly, get it converted to a hawk, it's about all they'er good for that and the gearbox.
I think we'er already seeing 05 wide tracks fetching as much if not more than their hawk counterparts.
If it's been forged then they should sell ok but someone will have taken the hit and it'll not be worth a premium over a non forged unless it has some very tasty mods of course, add the 500 quid ved and they're not a very popular car, I like the look of them but not enough to buy one and risk getting hit for another £3k, been there done that.

My misses said that the hawk looks better so we bought one of them!!! I'm not under the thumb:-) I've had two blobs a classic and a hawk eye.... And I think that they all have their benefits.....

Nah only joking mate I like the hawk

Blobs a much nicer shape and more aggressive looking then a Hawk, so in my opinion I'd pay more for a blob then a Hawk.
I only like Hawks in white.
But I guess it's all done to demand how prices will go......PS I love Fugly Bugs the best!

in my opinion the widetrack blobs will become equal in value to the hawks over time non widetrack models not far behind, its us the owners who dictate the value of our cars by how much we are prepared to sell to those who desire

Blobs will be worth more then hawkeyes long term
Rfl £500 is a lot of money for taxing a car over £275 ? cost of a blobeye
The old 2.5 engine that is going pop
Anyone who reads SN understands the problems and factoring in 2k +++ for a rebuild means the buyer would want a standard 2.5 a lot cheaper
Petrol costs and high insurance and parts and maintence will also turn away buyers while the classics will be sought after by enthuasists
I think the hatch will also plummet in a few years time

I think that started happening the day they went on sale, in fact has one ever been sold at the full dealer asking price, I think they even struggled to sell all the cosworths.
I prefer the blob too, cos i'm manly init.

I much prefer the look of hawks to blobs. Hence why I bought one.
Cheaper tax being regd before April. The hg blew, I repaired it. The ringlands went, I forged it.
Do I give a f*ck that blobs will be worth more than hawks? No.
Do I think blobs will be worth more than hawks? No
The more hawks that pop engines and get broken the better. Leaving lower numbers of hawks being forged and holding their money if not increasing the premium.
Far too many blobs left on the roads to justify their increased premium over hawks at this time.
Am I being biased because I'm a hawk owner? Yes of course.
But in true reality I don't ever see the blobs demanding more premium than hawks
My 2 copper queen heads worth.

I think they'll be close, as anyone buying a new age would probably go for a more extreme look; something that stands out from the mundane, common, insignificant & the bland. The Blob is likely to have the edge in that respect. (+ engine of course)
The conjecture however may prove irrelevant, as its quite probable that in a few years time, the EU would not allow any vehicle on the road that:
- produces over 25g/km of CO2,
- does less than 80mpg,
- is not a Hybrid or an EV,
- consumes Petrol,
- is Modified! (e.g. wheel upgrades)
