Default Driving to Ireland

Hi all,

Planning to drive to the Republic of Ireland. My car is a 1999 Turbo 2000. Only modifications are panel filter and cat back H&S stainless exhaust.
I always use V power and have never put normal unleaded in the car but I may need to if V power/super unleaded is not available. Will this be ok and do I need to drive the car different compared to always using V power?

Thanks for your advice

V power isnt available & super unleaded isnt widely available in the Republic. There are some Maxol stations that stock Maxol E5 (99ron) but even this is starting to be withdrawn from forecourts

seeing as your car isnt actually mapped for V-power, you can use normal unleaded as long as you dont intend driving flat out everywhere.

or just take some octane booster with you, and chuck that it during every fill.

in Northern Ireland you only have 97Ron super unleaded, and my 99 classic run daily without issue on it for 4yrs

Shouldn't be an issues, Uk classics aren't as demanding as jdm spec cars, if you keep the boost light you won't notice, used 95 few times when I'm getting low, I'm bad planning these things
