Default Clutch for 430/380 ?

Have killed my clutch and need a new one, Power is 430/380 but looking at going to 450 ft/lbs soon

Any advice on what to but without spending silly money?

Whats the clutch rated to?

Would not normally buy a used clutch so what use has it had?

I'm in exactly the same dilemma....

After weeks of searching the Internet and then ringing round many of the specialists I've decided to go with a competition clutch stage 2 organic single plate from Scoobyclinic.

Rated upto 490lb, smooth operation and slightly firmer pedal. All in fitted approx £730.
I'm booking mine in prob for next week.

I believe ACT do a similar rated clutch, as do Exedy USA, but after emailing Kev / the gaffer, and then talking with Adam (at Scoobyclinc) I'm going to them - yep on a 380 mile round trip.

I don't want a noisy twin plate nor a juddering nightmare so I'm going with the CC stage 2.

The AP racing organic is rated at 350lb, the Helix organic at 370lb, the Exedy organic either 400lb or 330lb depending what you read. They will all work but 'could' slip, 'could' judder, and will last less than 10,000 miles. My Helix fitted last summer hasn't made it to 10k and I've got 430lb.... misinformed possibly I was.

I believe Scoobyclinic can also skim your flywheel on site, or fit a fancy lighter one , or oem too.

Good luck man.

A

Carbonetic single or twin plate. I have single plate with 400hp 52kgm torque.

If you are looking more power In the future IMO I would over spec on the clutch,ACT clutches are good also HELIX,when choosing always base it on maximum torque of your car there are organics that can manage a lot of torque if it's a daily driver or you could go for twin plates which work well but command a higher price and are a bit more of a job to use for a daily driver.SJ.

The clutch that is failing is an AP organic and used with a RCM flywheel so i hope to skim that and just fit a clutch, Looking at spending 1k on the clutch and will fit it my self.

Hi there

From personal experience I would go with Exedy Twin Plate(HKS Twin Plate is very similar),I think someone over here selling used one for £700 and really they're worth the money

Great clutch like on drag strip or track days, noisy on daily basis and who don't know how to drive with this clutch will stall few times on traffic light in best or in traffic(in worst case scenario you will stall on the drag strip like we did)
