are the metal ones really worth upgrading for?? currently got standard plastic ones but a set on ebay has come up. my wrx is just a normal standard road car.

If yours is already apart then may as well.
If not there is no real need, as the cambelt will need replacing etc etc.
Worth getting a set ready for a cambelt change if you can get them cheap. Sub £30 delivered is cheap and I wouldn't pay more personally.
As for which is "better" I don't know, but I assume due to strength they are "better"??
