Default Advice on dump valves

I can't remember when I last read about dump valves on here. The problem is that was so long ago I've forgotten what they do and if they're any good or not?

I was told by my mate in the pub that they cause Armageddon insids the engine but I've had it fitted for like two weeks now but I've not seen or heard anything like it???

but on searching threads in the forum there is differing opinion on dump valves so will it damage/upset running of my car or not?

fitting a chav valve will see at least extra 200bhp... by adding a turbo badge from Halfords chav blow fart valve u will see a easy 349.2bhp.... this is a fact...

plus you can keep the boxes they came in for slow worms....
