I smashed one from the lights (an ST) in my R32 earlier, just booted it in D too.

Standard vs Standard there's not too much in it between the ST and WRX but a PPP or Mountune kit makes them significantly quicker. Some of the more extreme third party upgrades can make them really quick, so if you came across one of them no wonder he beat you!

I would say simply go for a remap, for your ££ spend prob return the biggest gain.

But as some others say don't get dragged into the whole ***** waving thing. If you enjoy the car and it puts a smile on ya face then its doing its job

I had an **** in a fiesta st the other day behind me, was not in the mood for a race so just tootled along at 80 on fast country roads then he overtook me just before a bend! Was really surprised he did , didn't think they were that quick but what a tosser, I let him pass but was surprised he tried. Clearly thought he was faster than an sti

Is the buttons on your keyboard sticking or something? Half the letters seem to be missing from your message.

Lent my dads bugeye WRX wagon for a day to take some stuff to the tip, and come across a Focus ST, The Focus ST pretty much pulled away easy enough.

But then again a standard bugeye WRX is 11-12 years old now and 215bhp back then was a lot compared to the fastest hot hatches in the early 2000's which where Clio 172/182 etc, now hot hatches like Clio's are pushing 200bhp and Astra VXR's 240bhp, Focus ST's 225bhp etc etc!!

A Wrx blob with a few exhaust mods and a remap (280) should see off any ST. Any std Wrx would out pull one off the line. I think the ST may have a better mid range due to a slightly larger turbo, so I'm told.

Focus ST has better torque, has a 2.5 compared to the 2.0 in the WRX. off the line then the ST will struggle, I had a Focus RS which would spin its wheels all the way to 3rd gear in the dry, in the wet no point wasting your time, as you would get wheel spin in 5th gear when it hit boost, But what a car(weather permitting)!!!

A 330 wrx wagon (my old one) beat a frs on a straight, got to 4th gear and had to over take but prior to that was pretty quick.
