PFC Z11's and change the discs you have

Make sure you follow the bed in procedure (preferably on a private road!)

I have used DS2500
I thought they were good,
I now use PF01 pads and discs, no issues.

Tempted by CL RC6 but wary about the whole sparks and 'eating discs' issue?

Anyone had any experience with these pads?

Yes they will chew through discs and make a mess of your wheels , so will the DS 3000's , you will probably find all pads of this performance will give these issues

Ian.. Do they spark much or is it hit an miss with them? I'm thinking of using the RC6 for a track day in a few weeks then swap back to the PF-Z for normal driving?

Yes they do as the metallic flakes fly off when using properly like a grinder lol, there's some YouTube vids.
That's a good idea to change for road if prefer.
But they ARE really good pads.

Yeah, seen the vids not good.

You've used them in the past haven't you, looking through old threads? Do they mess up the cars paintwork?

I want to use them for this trackday but concerned over the sparks... don't want marshalls moaning or ruined paint

I reckon RC5+ is a good compromise.

They squeal, so I use them for track days only (plus the leading week for bedding) and use kevlars for daily use.

It's a shame, but it seems performance comes hand in hand with dust, squeals and clunks. If someone can make a silent and clean performance pad, they'll have my money.

The sparks you won't see in daylight tbh, it's only a bit. And my paintwork didn't have 1 bit of rust on as some will claim (depends how often car is cleaned, I didn't wash every other day that's for sure)
Why would the marshalls complain? Braking too quick and causing a pile up maybe
Get some really good stuff for wheel cleaning like iron x or similar and wash after trackdays
For trackdays and hard driving in a heavier car like new age I'd use rc6 and a lighter car the rc5+ would be ok.

Carbotech is also very good but same problems with dirt and squeal

You can't have it all, it's either 1 or the other

Exactly - you don't get something for nothing when it comes to brakes, especially on a track.

What calipers ? I have used PF Z rated on brembos and got them faded in about 12 mins on cadwell park. Now with AP 4 pots ds2500 are much better but the bite is still not great. I'm looking forward to try PF08's . Alyn@AS said their excellent compromise road/track ...

How much power are you running? To fade PF Z rated pads that fast you must of been driving around with your foot on the brake peddleI know there predominately a fast road pad but they should of worked better then that,I rate them highly.I have the 08 compound for my AP's but I'm going to use the DS2500 pads that come with the AP set up as standard first.SJ.

I dont drive like a girl , 324/330 circa 57 secs@Cadwell ... The problem is not only with pads but with calipers themselves, i had 1 peace disc too which didn't help with heat extraction either... All those little things just doesn't work in your favor if you're an aggressive driver. Brembo's are Alfa series caliper for road/fast road not to be hard driven on the track too .

Yeah I hear yah mate, the Brembo caliper is chunky and retains a lot of heat which doesn't really help with fade but I found the PF two piece disc and PFC pads worked so well that I had to wait until I was going to build a 2.35 before I even contemplated upgrading my whole brake set up.SJ.

Any of the pads that have already been mentioned would work well with your calipers, price wise I would either talk to Alyn of AS PERFORMANCE or Ian at Godspeed.remember you get what you pay for.SJ.

if your looking for good track/competition performance (with no downsides) then the PAGID rs15 or new RST3 take a lot of beating...........

never had any issues with any of the PFC pads either

Caldwell is a pretty harsh track on brakes if your caining it and a good place to test the ability of brakes.
P.s I found the ds2500s leave too much deposits on discs causing judder.

Pagid rs series I would love to try too (top dog pads) any testers for me alyn

The difference of selling my Brembos and getting AP 4 pots instead was 150 plus 120 quid for new pads... It included 2 piece discs too ... Ive done my calculations and only getting PF discs alone would cost me 500+ alone which is the best combo with Brembo calipers IMO... AP's havent faded on Cadwell II 36 degrees that day...

It's funny Alyn mentioned the PAGID RS15 pad as it's a pad I forgot about. The pad has been around for donkey's years as my mate had them on his Cossie back in the days and rated them highly,I might have to try them out in the future.SJ.

Is the PAGID RS15 or RST3 available in the K-Sport front calipers pattern?
