VF30
Hi,
I have a bugeye with prodrive cat, prodrive back box and air filter.
Thinking about doing decat up pipe, injectors, turbo and STI top mount and getting a remap.
What turbo would you recommend? I've been offered a VF30. What power would I expect.
Cheers
Dan

What would you like to achieve? It's not all about the numbers With the list of things you intend to do a vf35 or 34 if you can find one would be a nice upgrade ( standard item on uk/Jdm cars)
Vf43 from the later 2.5's seem to be doing well on the 2.0ltr also After these stock turbos your talking money, plus the biggest you could realistically do with those mods would be circa 400hp as the injectors (pink Sti items) will be at max and also the Sti top mount would need changing out again to help with the cooling, and that's if your 5 speed box is up for it, then you should be upgrading the braking setup from the oe callipers and pads to something more up to the job.
Chassis and handling go along way for the setup of a car, a well sorted handling and braking car will out drive someone with 100hp more if they don't know how to apply it! Speed and power are one thing chassis and handling along with braking is another, find a happy medium would be my advice, or maybe get use to this car and rather than spend £££'s on modifications perhaps put it towards a better starting point I.E a newage Sti where it won't cost as much to get the same performance out of the box near enough and comes with better brakes, bigger turbo etc.
I've got all the power I could want (well nearly )it's the handling I'm more interested in and getting it set to my driving style, power is useless if you can't use it properly

Thanks,
Handling is pretty good. I have prodrive springs, ALK, whiteline ARB's. I'm happy with brakes. I rebuilt them all with stainless pistons and have decent pads in them.
I currently have 275bhp and I'm really looking for the next jump up. Car isn't worth much because although it well looked after became a Cat D right off so just trying to get best with what I have for resnobable money.
Cheers,
