Default 2.5 wrx hawkeye exhaust

Having just purchased my first impreza 06 plate hawkeye wrx, I'm a bit disappointed at how quiet it is, any advice on changing the back box/ exhaust to give it the scooby noise

Do you want serious loud(Blitz Nur spec, RCM team ice, cobra racetube) or do you want something that sounds nice without being really/stupid loud (Afterburner Vortex) or something thats just slightly louder then your standard system (Prodrive)

Do a search on you tube with any of the exhausts ive mentioned and see what you think??

I have the Prodrive exhaust on MY06 Hawkeye WRX STi PPP. I like it as it's loud enough when I want it to be and quiet enough when I need it to be.
I do like the sound of the Blitz Nur Spec R, but as others have said before "it's hard to live with on a day to day basis" & "long journeys do your head in".

Cat back Milltek, £350 inc delivery and vat from us.
Easy fit system, not too noisy and very well made.

I've a full 3" Milltek system with a sports cat and it's very loud and drones on motorway runs. That said, tolerating that gives an awesome burble and the rumbling / roaring on acceleration and howl on the overrun is intoxicating. The odd pop and bang can be fun too.

The wife doesn't like it though.

Happy days, thanks for the response folks.

Want something that sounds decent around town and under hard acceleration, or just about acceptable on the motorway as I do very little on those roads, more a/b roads..

We'd normally class H and S as LOUD, Cobra as LOUD to medium and Milltek as quieter. The 2.75 inch system is available with a centre resonator box, which calms things down a bit, but still sounds like a Subaru.

I'd agree ... but ... mine does seem to be noisier than a friends same system .. so may just be variation in spec .. or I've burned off all the baffling after 100k miles !!

I suppose it makes a huge difference if you're comparing back boxes to full systems. Especially true if you're changing resonators and the number of cats.

Mine makes a hell of a lot more noise than my old GB270 that had a oem exhaust with a Racebox back box.

That sounds like a plan then, would be interested in a price for that system.
