Are these gauges compatible with the senders from the stepper series? Could you just swap out the gauges and use the existing senders?

Usual wrong info. Most senders are different. The steppers use decent senders. The evo ones massive mechanical abortions

They read Ok but the wiring is poor too.
They cant be daisy chained either like steppers.
Take it from someone who has changed from steppers to evos and back again.
The only common sender is the boost one

Thats strange, I wonder why ProSport would tell me that they are compatible apart from the temp sender ?

I'll get onto them and double check with what you are feeding back.

Dont take my word for it then.
Oil and fuel pressure is totally different.
Evo has a big clunky mechanical thing.
Steppers have small on on multiplug.
Boost is the same.
Oil temp and water temp look same but read different.
But the main issue with evo is no wiring is provided for senders and steppers come with plug and play stuff on multiplug.
They both read Ok. But steppers are a better designed andquality gauge.

Its not just taking your word for it mate I need to know why I have been told different from the manufacturer. As a distributor I need to make sure I am giving the correct information to people I dont really care who is right aslong as the question is answered correctly

It sounds to me that the evo range use the same senders as the prosport non stepper range. In my old car I had prosport stepper oil temp, oil pressure and boost. I then added prosport non stepper fuel pressure and volts. The non stepper used a large mechanical sender whereas the steppers used small electrical senders.

yes id say so too, as i said the only common sender was boost.
the oil and fuel pressure used some awful big mechanical things on the evos where as the steppers use small electrical ones on a multi plug.

i like them too dont get me wrong they read ok once installed they just use cheaper senders and wiring, they are now in emmas car.
i changed because i put in some jdm sweeping clocks which are red so wanted red gauges too.

the reason i know 100% the senders are different is because i tried to use stepper senders with evos( the ones that fit i.e water and oil temp) and the gauges read incorrect but where fine as soon as senders supplied were fitted.

oil and fuel pressure are totally different anyway but boost fits

Hmmm. Cheers Dan I think I'll stick with the steppers. They're no Defis but after four or so years they still work fine. You've confirmed my suspicion that the Evo range is style over substance and besides as a Scooby owner I'm not keen on the name either lol!

i would keep the steppers tbh, they are easier to fit as you can daisy chain them, the evos need seperate wiring for each gauge and have no wiring supplied for the senders where as steppers us dedicated wiring and multiplugs.

evos are fine once installed and work with no issues just a pain to fit and made of cheaper components and also lack peak and warning functions.

The Evo's are a PITA to fit, I will be going back over mine again re-wiring them as each wants its own live and earth for both gauge and sender which isn't supplied. Behind my FMIC pipework looks like Spaghetti Junction.

that was why i didnt like them the steppers have there own loom for the senders and also you only need to wire on gauge for power and can daisy chain the rest with the link cable supplied.

much better designed and quality

if you like the design of the evos they are fine when fitted though. just made of cheaper components in my opinion.
