Default Help with alarm...

When I got my car it only come with the one key and he said the remote doesn't work so I need to lock / unlock it with the key which I have been doing up until tonight with no issues but when I've opened it to leave for work this evening the alarm has started going off and I don't know how to turn it off - It's the first time it's gone off so I'm a bit confused

2003 Blob WRX.

This is the key I have...

Check the battery in the key.

Also, the coin holder down by your right knee when sat in the drivers seat, pull that down, inside you should have a keypad, you can turn the alarm of with that by entering your pin.

Why would the alarm start sounding though when I unlock with the key when it's never done it before?

Will have a look at keypad thing - not sure if I have the code though.

Okay... so, here's the story... I now feel like a complete and utter tool for reasons I'm about to go into.

I got up this afternoon and I asked the missus to get me a new battery to try in my key to see if that works then she proceeds to say to me "why don't you just use your spare key" ... At this moment the bombshell dropped that I do actually have a spare key and I now feel like a bit of a tit

I've only owned this Impreza for about 7 weeks and I was thinking of my old classic for which I did only have 1 key for

And now not only have I got a working key but the key also works for the remote locking so I don't need to use the key in the door which I have been doing since I got the car early last month

Also, I noticed on the spare key there is a small metal tag with a series of numbers stamped into it (5 numbers) ... will this be the code for that keypad?

No, afaik the code is 4 digit.

Changing your PIN:

- Arm and then Disarm the system using a working Radio Key.

- Within 30 seconds of disarming, type into the keypad: *17856*92*wxyz*wxyz# (where wxyz is your new PIN code)

- Arm the system with the Radio Key

- You should now be able to disarm the system using the new PIN code
