I have a 1995 JDM WRX on an M plate saloon. Underneath the gearstick is the original rubber gear gaiter which is just flapping around unfixed. How on earth does this damn thing fix to the plastic unit??? I have looked all over the internet but cannot find an answer.
Please someone help me before I kill the dog
Many thanks, Emma.

Assuming it isnt actually broken you can get it back in the hole with some faffing.
I find that getting the front edge hooked under the plastic trim first is your best bet. Then its just a case of working your way round and popping the flaps into the hole.
Its a pain in the chuff but its quite secure when you get it back in.
