Default thinking of getting this subaru but wanting peoples opinion

hey All

Havent been on here for a while now... so happy new year to everyone!

Anyway am thinking of swapping my bmw e36 convertible for an classic estate, and was wondering opinion or even better if someone on here owned it in the past
I know alot of people are against the site swap but i have met some geuine people on the site... i know the mileage is alittle high, last serviced in November new clutch, flywheel brakes and disc

here is a link of the vehicle
http://www.swapz.co.uk/swapz/4243905/subaru_impreza/

what you guys think? also what is PPP? I read its something to do with a Y pipe, so on the picture of the engine can anyone tell if its has the PPP

thanks

William

Happy New Year to you as well

Hopefully it will be, with the right Subaru.

The ad's a bit er.... lacking tbh, so I think you'd need a decent dialogue with the other party.

PPP = Prodrive Performance Pack.
Prodrive is a company that specialised in uprating the performance of cars*.

I believe that the 'PPP uplift' on a Subaru involved remapping after changing the exhaust system (and other small mods?) and it got the car a reasonable power upgrade.

PPP cars have a certificate of authenticity, so ask to see the one for that wagon (or any other advertsided as PPP).

* Someone will no doubt detail exactly what the PPP involved, or you can Google it. Sorry I haven't.

PPP on a classic was a centre and rear exhaust (original downpipe retained), a replacement ECU and a better intercooler Y pipe. It should have a certificate. If it doesn't then I would ignore the PPP claim.

As for other points about the car it has an aftermarket induction kit which may not work well with the MAF without a map and it has a terrible gauge install.

Worse than that though are those seats... yuk!

Walk away IMO, it's a right mess!

That sort of site is hit and miss, personally I'd be looking on an owners forum, such as here on Scoobynet. At least you'd (should) get an enthusiast owned car.

Not a particular good example
