PLEASE READ THIS - Aspartame and health problems

I know this is non scooby related, but I think many of you would like to read this.
Aspatame is a sweetener added to most diet drinks and now lots of foods. It has recently been linked with gulf war syndrome.
It is highly toxic and dangerous, but is still added to food and drinks.
Please read these two sites:

Trust this as from a good source.....
TOXICOLOGICAL INFORMATION
Aspartame is a sweetener widely used as an additive in foodstuffs and drugs. It is about 160 times sweeter than sucrose in aqueous solution. Although an approved additive, aspartame should only be used as directed and should not be taken internally in its undiluted form.
Direct contact with the eyes may result in irritation.
Skin contact may cause mechanical irritation.
Inhalation of aspartame was not found to be linked with harmful effects in studies on workers, although it may cause mechanical irritation of the respiratory tract.
Ingestion of aspartame in normal quantities is considered non-harmful. The maximum expected daily intake in foodstuffs is 20 to 40 mg/kg body weight. Some individuals who have phenylketonuria (a genetic reduction of the ability to metabolise phenylalanine) may suffer harmful effects following ingestion due to its normal metabolism to phenylalanine. Other products of metabolism include aspartic acid and methanol. Experimental evidence indicates that even with extraordinary consumption, methanol toxicity stemming from aspartame use is very highly unlikely.
Most frequently reported problems following normal consumption of aspartame have been neurological or behavioural symptoms, gastrointestinal symptoms and hypersensitivity or dermatological symptoms. The data do not indicate evidence of a widespread problem, but certain individuals appear to be sensitive to aspartame.
Aspartame can cause behavioural effects in offspring of rats fed very large quantities. However, studies at normal intake levels show no such effects.
There is no information on the mutagenic potential of aspartame. Tests have shown no demonstrable carcinogenic effects due to aspartame or its metabolites.
Toxicity rating: Not applicable.

That's what pisses me off about all these fruity sparkly water drinks you can buy. Usually called something "natural" or "clear". You think, "ooh, looks clear so no colourings, and says it is spring water with a hint of fruit juice - cool."
Then you read the effing ingredients list and there's an endless array of artificial sweeteners and all sorts of crap in it.
And if you drink it you get that evil artificial sweetener aftertaste.
Bollocks.
