couple more quick questiins, how does the turbo timer work on the alarm system compared to a standard turbo timer?also im presuming the only fob you would need then to get in the car would be the alarm fob?can an alarm still be a cat 1 with intellistart?and if i went for say a toad or cobra how would the turbo timer work with that?would the car still running not set the alarm off?cheers, ryan.

my car never had a standard turbo timer so i cant comment on that, how it works on the alarm is, when you park up, leave the car in neutral press 2 buttons on the clifford fob then remove the key from the ignition, the engine will still be running, then just press the button on the clifford fob to lock the car and walk away, the car will then turn off in about 60 seconds.

i cant comment on the alarm with regards to intelli start as i never wanted it.

For a start turbo timers are a total waste of time and probably do more harm than good in my opinion, just do the last few miles of your journey at sensible speed/rpm's.

Secondly I would think buying an alarm and then having it fitted/certified would be false economy, I'm sure somewhere would give better discount if you had an alarm supplied and fitted in one go and it will make any future problems easier to deal with if its their own supplied security system fitted.

Regards

Mick

thanks for the reply, with regards to the turbo timer when i got the car it was allready fitted, the car is currently in cyprus so thats why i asked about buying it and having it fitted now then having it certified when the car gets to the uk.but like you say its much easier having it supplied and fitted by the same people.any recomendatiins on alarm systems?cheers, ryan.
